1. One of these days, I'll invite you to have a lunch with me. (No)
One of these days, I'll invite you to have lunch with me. (Yes) (To "have breakfast/lunch/dinner" does not require the article, "a". It is only when a specific meal is meant or an option is implied that "a" is used. For example, "a breakfast of bread and tea is always his choice".)

2. It was rude shock/ great surprise to learn of his death. (No)
 It was a rude shock/ a great surprise to learn of his death.(Yes) (When used as nouns, "shock" and "surprise" are countable, so they are preceded by the appropriate article, "a". Other words that express emotion are usually uncountable. However, when the forms of the verb "be" are used, they are usually used with "a" or "an". For example, "it accords me great pleasure to welcome you"; "it is a great pleasure for me to welcome you.")

 3. More than one teacher are needed now. (No)
 More than one teacher is needed now. (Yes) (When "more than" is used, the word or number that comes after it determines the following verb. For example, "more than ten men work here but not more than one is actually needed."
