A LEGEND CALLED ADEGBORO
Adegboro left Ibadan for Lagos in search of green pasture. He chose to be carrying loads on his head at a popular market at OYINGBO to earn a living.
Few years later, he bought a cart from his savings and this ease his pains of carrying loads on his head for commercial purposes. The cart also increased his income and he was able to acquire 6 more kinds which he rented out to others.
Exactly 8 years in this cart pushing business, Adegboro bought a van which is popularly called "BOLEKAJA" and also learning to drive. He handled the business by himself. 4years in the Bolekaja business, Adegboro had been a proud owner of 6vans. Being a bonafide Ibadan son(in Nigeria), Adegboro built a magnificent building at Oja oba(a market by the palace) where the palace is situated. When it was time to put a roof on the building, many people at this period approached Adegboro to show them the secret behind his success. He simply asked them, if they could carry loads on their heads in the market to earn income? And their response had always been NEVER.
He too would spontaneously say "Eni ti o lese bi alaru loyingbo, kolese bi Adegboro Loja oba"(he that cannot be a carrier of loads at oyingbo cannot do like Adegboro at the market square) -this is a replica of the Yoruba's adage that says,"Isasun ti o ba jata obe, idi re akoko gbona"(a pot that wants to consume a palatable soup must have its bottom burnt or heated with fire first)
